The ranking is based on the analyses of the rating agency Scope Analysis and the Institut für Vermögensaufbau (IVA). Fund quality, product range and management as well as customer service and the website are evaluated. 50 percent of the overall rating is given to fund quality. Customer service and internet presence account for 25 percent of the score.

Only the ten best providers receive the top score of five stars.
